- Using off-the-shelf programs for such things as order entry
Many businesses spend thousands of payroll dollars a month trying to work around their existing programs. A custom program can work exactly as your business does and save thousands. Many of our programs pay for themselves in less than 6 months.
- Using the wrong program
An example is using Excel when Access or FoxPro would be much more efficient
- Using numerous systems
Many businesses use one program for accounting, another for complaint tracking, another for order entry, etc. Many hours can be lost this way. This often results in double or triple data entry or inefficient batch updating. It can also result in costly reporting errors because of typos.
- Inefficient email systems
Think of the benefit of being able to send messages to groups of people by email at one time automatically. By combining some custom programming with an email server, you can do just that. A message to all employees or to all employees in a particular department is two examples. Automatic notification of backorder status is another.
This can be combined with automatic faxing so you can notify some by email and others by fax. You could even notify others by text-to-speech (computer makes and logs the calls).
- inefficient fax systems
Faxing should take no longer than printing - in fact, it should take less time.
- no telephony system
This is another way to get information into and out of your company's computer systems. An employee or customer can call your telephony system and get routine information back by fax, email or text-to-speech (the computer reads text to caller).
- Double and triple entry of data
How many times have you printed information for the sole purpose of entering it into another program?
-No web page
You cannot afford to not have a web page! Your competition, sooner or later, will clobber you with an attractive, interactive web page.
- A poorly designed web page
The appearance, organization and speed of your web page are critical to your business. You want it to "say" nice things about your company.
- A web page that is not interactive
A web page can be an extension of your company's computer system. We use our web page to enter billable hours on projects. In addition, our customers manage projects we are doing for them on our web page. They can add and delete tasks as well as add comments to clarify and instruct our programmers. They can generate reports showing whether the project is on time and within budget.
Wouldn't you like to serve your customers better with an interactive web page? How many phone calls would not have to be made if your customers could get information via the Internet?
How many customers would be happy customers if they could get information about their orders/projects 24 hours a day from anywhere in the world? And remember, it takes on average $5 to get a new customer for every $1 to keep an existing customer.
Think of the savings in sales and marketing - or think of the growth because your company will not have to replace as many existing customers with new ones!
And how about your employees? A recent survey showed that about 1/3 of all phone calls to a business were from employees requesting routine information. Think of the savings if you could cut that in half. There are many ways to notify employees of their schedules, new company policies, etc. such as having an employee page (password protected) on your web-site, sending the information to their cell phones, text to speech calls, etc.
Companies who learn how to use the Internet will dominate their markets. Many of those who do not will go out of business.
- a web page that cannot be found
When your prospects are searching for products and services which you provide, you should be easily found in any of the major search engines. If you are not, you are losing business!
